Development of an efficient water quality monitoring system for the Neris River

Abstract
The main project task has been further development of the current water monitoring system in Lithuania. Neris River catshment has been the pilot study area. The work have included laboratory and field work on water chemistry, benthic macroinvertebrates and phytoplankton. Water management has been a preferential task, including water quality criteria. Further, a pollution load model, TEOTIL, has been developed for Lithuanian conditions.
