Data and R scripts used in the paper: Rinde E, Christie H, Fagerli CW, Bekkby T, Gundersen H, Norderhaug KM, Hjermann DØ (2014) The Influence of Physical Factors on Kelp and Sea Urchin Distribution in Previously and Still Grazed Areas in the NE Atlantic. PLoS ONE 9 (6), DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0100222 Overview of files and their content: Data modelldata.xlsx - the model data used in the BRT and GAM analysis of the kelp and sea urchin species; the values of the predictor variables for each observation, and observed presence or absence of each species. testdata.xlsx - this file contains the same information as modelldata.xlsx, but for the data used to test the GAM and BRT models. TempAtlasdata.xlsx - the temperature data used in the study, and information of the predictor values used in the mixed gam analysis of this data set. R-scripts LH_analysis.txt - includes the r codes used to perform the analysis of the kelp Laminaria hyperborea (model development and evaluation), and to produce the response plots and the evaluation plots for this species in the paper. SD_analysis.txt - includes the r codes used to perform the analysis of the sea urchin Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis (model development and evaluation) and to produce the response plots and the evaluation plots for this species in the paper. tempatlas_analysis.txt - includes the codes to perform the mixed gam analysis of the temperature data, as well as the codes to produce figure 8 in the paper, and the response curves in the supplementary material (Figure S5). Predictions final sdmodelstested.xlsx - includes the predicted probabilities for sea urchin occurrence from 5 models, and the observed occurrence of the species within the test data. final lhmodelstested.xlsx - includes the predicted probabilities for kelp recovery from 4 models, and the observed occurrence of the species within the test data.
