Sammendrag
Olive oil industry wastewater (Alpechine) samples are coagulated with a range of organic polymers with different chemical compositions, molecular weights and cationic natures. Nearly 100% particle removals are possible to achieve with organic polymers. The viscosity of polymer solution is found as a limiting factor, thus low molecular weght and strongly cationic polymers are recommended. The CST value (which may be an indicator for filterability) is decreased with selected polymers. The polymers result in good sedimentation properties, while a combination with flocculants does not improve it further.
