Intercalibration: Invertebrate fauna 09/04 (ICP Waters report 77/2004)

Abstract

The 8th intercalibration of invertebrates in the ICP Waters programme had contribution from 4 laboratories. All of the laboratories identifed a high portion of the individuals in the testsamples, usually >90% of the total number of species. The genus level was only used for juvenile larvae or larva that had lost important characters. The faults made were mostly on material coming from regions outside the region og the laboratory. This implies that some species could be new/unknown for the laboratory. The quality was sufficient for stating the acidity index, and for use in multivariate statistical analyses.
