Developement of an analytical method for the analysis of methylene-bis-thiocyanate at low level concentrations in water
Abstract
An analytical method for the low level analysis of methylene-bis-thiocyanate (MBT) in waste water was developed. Prior to the instrumental analysis by HPCL, enrichment of MBT is achieved by solid phase extraction. Among several solid phase materials, best results were obtained using LiChrolut(R) EN (non-ionogenic, highly porous polystyrene-divinylbenzene polymer) which is known to retain polar substances. With the method developed, MBT may be determined at levels down to 1 µg/l water
